Dr. Debaditya Biswas joined Virginia Tech as a postdoctoral assistant in May 2022, to work in the PArtonic Structure of the HAdrons group with Prof. Marie Boër. He obtained his PhD in 2022 from Hampton University under the direction of Prof. M.E. Christy, on the studies of quark's structure functions in collaboration with the Jefferson Lab Hall C.

At Virginia Tech, he is working on GEANT4 simulations to develop new experiments for exclusive Compton-like and vector meson production reactions, sensitive to Generalized Parton Distributions. He is involved with the NPS and CPS collaborations in JLab Hall C. In particular, he is performing R&D for muon hodoscopes to be installed in an upcoming Hall C experiments aiming at measuring Double Deeply Virtual Compton Scattering.

In 2024, he was rewarded by JSA as the postdoctoral prize winner for his work on muon detection.
